Tammy Lucente is the owner of a very different kind of renovation and remodeling company, Renu Painting, Design and Renovate. The duo prides itself on providing a high-end, custom job that not only meets, but exceeds the expectations of their clients in terms of both quality and design. When Renu Painting, Design and Renovate takes on a project, the company provides both the actual construction work as well as the design expertise without the need to hire an additional designer.
Tammy is originally from Worcester, Massachusetts and has lived in Richmond for the past 20 years. She has experience and expertise in all the trade areas, but it is her eye for interior design that sets her apart from other General Contractors. “I have a natural, God-given ability to get a feel for what the client wants. Anything from Art Deco to Eastern—I am able to tap into what the client’s taste is and customize the design to suite their family and lifestyle,” says Tammy.
Tammy decided to go into business because she saw a need for a renovations company that approaches each project from a designer’s perspective. Tammy shops with each client and advises them on the materials to purchase for the job. “Tammy has an amazing eye for design and holds the client’s hand throughout the process. She has the expertise to see the end result that the client wants which is essential."
Tammy not only acts as project manager, but also does the work with her crew members. “One of the most comforting things for a client is to know who is going to be in their home and we respect people’s homes immensely. I am there with the crew, and our people are amazing."

They have assisted local businesses and groups to establish regular food and blood drives throughout Richmond. Over the past few years, Tammy has helped establish eight such events that have continued to run either annually or biannually. “We have made this a big part of how we give back and it is really important to us. I want that number to do nothing but increase. These drives have such a long-term, lasting effect on our community,” she says.
